Wondermama did a wonderful job

Wondermama, Wonderful food experience, at least that what my impression of that place.
Situated at the corner of Avenue K, Kuala Lumpur. This cosy little diner has more than meet the eye, at first glance, it may look like any other hip eating places around KL & PJ but let me guarantee you that it doesn’t take much to satisfied my craving of foods. I am a simple girl who like a good food and good food is what I found here.

It may not has the most elaborate list of menus and varieties of beverages but with a lot of food choices and beverages, the food is either a hit or a miss.

A great thing bout short menu list is shorter decision making and the food we choose would be as good as next person. No less or more. I think what they are doing are brilliant.

At first I thought it was a dessert places, the place is more less looks like Wondermilk, an over expensive cupcakes that I can live without but a friend of mine manage to get me to step into this place, which I have a resolution to try at least one new restaurant every time I go out.
I do not want to comment about customer service and what not since I am not really particular of such details/minor things…though  regards to that, coming from retail background before, if waitress or waiter kinda rude to you on Saturday with handful of people coming and anxious, hungry and angry for food, don’t be such a bitch, you will get your food. Capish? You will live.

Since I thought I was hungry {a lie I told myself every time}, I took creamy carbonara spaghetti with sweet chicken and a friend of mine ordered Mee Kari (Curry Noodles). At the end of our meal, let just say we turn into a cow and could might as well sitting under a tree and stay there til the rest of the day. We were THAT full. It was huge potion!

Do not be fool by this picture. It’s a mind boggling that something look so little can feel unlimited.

Both of the foods looks great, tasteful and flavorful and leaving me and my friend full with happiness and satisfaction.

Thank you for my friend, Mazian who manage to drag me to this place though I don’t have picture of the first meal I had here which was a Hor Fun {my saliva start drooling already} but I totally recommend to everyone and anyone who wish to have a favorite Malaysian dish that has been fusion and catered to young and hip people of KL.
I wish this establishment will maintain their deliciousness, humbleness and creativity of their food arts.

Things I Could Not Leave My House Without

It is raining cats and dogs here in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and well, it is matter of fact is raining season until February at least.

Since comfy and practicality is my go to attitude, there are two things I need to have in my bag all the time.

1. Flip flop/slippers

I made habit to bring extra flip flop in my bag since this raining season start and no need to wonder why my bag are always heavy or big.

I can recommend Ipanema slippers/sandals because they look gorgeous and they last longer, how long? Quite long because I have the same Ipanema slippers for more than 4 years and it never fails me, through
rain, beaches and walking, the color remained and the upper slipper remain and can be re-intact even after I almost become a snatch victim. True story.

 Price range RM 30 –  RM 90.

2. Umbrella

While in Asia, umbrella is important and you know it.

I got my umbrella at Feuzu, a small umbrella shop at Level 6 Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. There are a lot of cute umbrellas but mine is bigger and wider and it can cover at least 3 person. Downside, it only have one color when I bought it and it is boring.

This is my umbrella Jumbo Scottish the name.

Well, practical wins. Price range at RM 50- RM 100 ++. Check out their website. They have lot of other designs.

Even for your dogs..

That’s it! I can go without my makeup but without umbrella and slippers in Oct til Feb is crazy talk.

Have a great day!

Sabah 3 days 2 nights trip

Day 1

Back from work at 6 am and all 9 of us are going to Sabah. One of Borneo famous land, which it is known for Mount Kinabalu, Probosis monkeys and Sipadan island.

We rent a van from office 8:30 am straight to KLIA 2, a new low cost flight replaced LCCT.

Since a friend of mine arranged the transportation, whom had to cancelled his flight due to unfortunate event. I was in panic mode when the van did not arrived on time and later found out that the driver thought he had to picked us up at 9am! Fortunately, he was around the area and pick us up around 8:45 am.

We were happy as a bird and chatting how are we going to spend at Sabah and the guys were teasing each other and all that when the highway are in heavy traffic! I was in my second panic mode.. and keep checking my watch and thought “we have time, we have time” when suddenly one of van tires blowed up, literally into pieces.

We were 15 minutes away from the airport and that happened?!! I was in my third panic mode, this time I couldn’t contained myself and start calling my dad and

tell him that we urgently need a transportation and made my dad in a panic mode too. Sorry, dad! Around this moment the mood become so tense and they don’t feel to go through with Sabah trip. I tried to keep a positive mind and say “we can make it” though I am sure my expression reflected otherwise.

After 15-20 minutes, the PlusRonda arrived and save the day and they were fast too. Once the tire are back on, the driver rush to the airport and we ran like mad kids who always missed the school bus.

We told ourselves, “We made it! We actually made it”.

We arrived at 2:30 pm and rented a 12 seater van for RM 660 for 2 days.

We went to eat at Tanjung Aru since most of us did not had any breakfast. ( Remember tire burst?)

We arrived at Marina Court and settled in our apartment and around 7 pm we headed to Seafood dinner place around the block.

Here are pics of aparment. Good stay for big group. Jack’s Apartment.

You really need to eat here at KK Night Seafood
Market between KK Central Market and Segama Watefront. It is famous among Sabahan. All you have to do is choose from all variety of
fishes, lobsters, prawns and etc and tell them how you want to cook it and let them do the work and you will have a feast! A great feast, my tastebud approved!

The first night of dinner. A sneak peek for all you hungry people.

After fulfilling our desire of seafood feast, we retreat to our apartment and rest since next day would be a very one day pack activities.

Day 2

Morning!! It was 5 a.m. and we were up and grumpy to go to Kundasang. We arrived around 8.am to a place of heaven on earth.

It was a must place to visit! It was totally reminded me of New Zealand with their black and white cows and scenery. I felt nostalgic and wanting to go back to
New Zealand. ok.. move along!

I bought too much dairy products, plain yogurt, waffles with peanut butter and chocolate and chocolate drink. I am ashamed since I broke my vows on Do Not Waste Foods categories.

After we had fun at Kundasang, we decided to stop at Kinabalu Park before heading back to the city. If you like hiking, you’ll love it here.

Around 1 p.m. we arrived at the city and straight to go island hopping. We took charter boat since it is cheaper and we were in big group. 3 Islands: Pulau Manukan, Pulau Sapi  & Pulau Mamutik.

I wont bored you with details on how I can’t swim and had a life jacket all along.

Around 5 p.m. we decided to go back to the city and rest and later that night had our dinner at seafood night market.

All of us at that moment are beat and since my camera died on me due to lack efficiency of charging it, I don’t have any pic to show you guys.

We were planning to hang out until late night but one by one saying sayonara and hi to bedroom. Off the lights.

Day 3

Woke up around 9 am, feeling refresh and meeting up for breakfast and went to buy sourvenirs for families and friends at Filipino market.

I bought dried prawns and anchovies for my mom since she requested back home. My mom told me dried prawns from Sabah are delicious, all I know my mom cooks delicious so ingredients pap talk don’t really get to me as yet.

Before we all went back, we had a massage.
Most of them opt for foot massage but I went for Back Massage. I was having a bad back pain a week before Sabah trip
and it really does wonder and very much needed. I just glad my back pain does not give me any trouble in Sabah.

We did massage at Warisan Square. Here are the scan for the prices for massage they provided.

It was a great trip and every one was getting along very well and co-operative.

I had fun 😊

Until next trip!

Malacca @ Night

 My New Fav Shopping Destination

Ok, I admit, I love Malacca. I love Jonker Street and when I heard they want to remove Jonker street, I was devastated, furious and absolutely feeling the authorities making a huge mistake!
It was the best thing in Malacca to have Jonker Street and at weekend, even though I really dislike crowds and cramp places but I would make Jonker Street an exception!
I tend to buy some things there. At least one or two things. or even 10 !
Though this time, I was there with my family to celebrate Father’s Day.
It kinda of a treat for me and me sis for him and my mom , so we, sisters let them have they own date night , with Malacca boat cruise and Malacca’s famous extravagant rickshaws.

We just being there for a night. It is pretty near from Nilai, Negeri Sembilan so it is perfect weekend gateaway.
We stayed at Bayview Hotel Melaka and it is the last option we had. It was fully booked other places and this is the nearest and nicest place I could find.

I won’t review about the hotel, I’ve done it at Tripadvisor.com.

One thing strike me with this room that it is pretty old by the looks of the furniture and sign of “Tolong” or Help craved on lower of the table.

Did I freak out? Not really. The first thing was in my mind that “this person watched too much horror movie”.
Before we reached to the hotel, we ate at Tiga Lima Restaurant or “Three Five Restaurant”, my dad said it is quite a famous restaurant in Melaka with their famous “Asam Masak Pedas”. I guess it was ok for me.
This is the only thing that left.

Jonker street was the IT place in Malacca. I’ve ended up bought well, quite much of “unnecessaries”.

“. Some shirts, watches and key chains? lol. Well, can’t show them. I forgot which one I bought there. Lol.

We had a great night and I am glad my dad and mom had a great date night ^_^

~ Gong Xi Fa Cai or Happy Chinese New Year ~

Today my fellow Chinese friends are celebrating Chinese New Year and this year it happen to be a Snake year.  The fireworks were blasting in the air since Friday and roads are in massive traffic due to people going back to their sweet hometown.

Hence, the shopping malls are pretty much closed. So, no “jalan-jalan” for me.:(

Have a prosperous year ahead for all of us!
