Before there’s ton of beauty products, women made their own remedy for keeping their skin in tip top condition.

Here is a lists of the beauty remedies.

1. Rose Balm- For hands, feet, elbows, and general dry skin

  • 1/2 pound hogs lard (can be purchased in grocery stores labeled “lard”)
  • 1/4 pound or less of white wax (candle stubs or canning wax work well)
  • Rose water*
  • Alkanet root or cochineal pigment (if desired)

2. Four Thieves Vinegar- Cleaning and freshening of rooms

  • Medium bottle apple cider vinegar
  • Dried or fresh:
    • Sage
    • Rosemary
    • Thyme
    • Lavender
  • Glass container with cork

3. Cleaning of the skin

  • White wine
  • Rosemary (fresh or dried)

4. Scented powder for body or hair

  • Glass jar with cork
  • Dried lavender flowers
  • Starch (corn starch is used late in the 18th century, wheat starch is more common during the period. If you can find dried, powdered laundry starch, this is perfect!)

Personally, I won’t do it myself but perhaps you can give it try or you already knew it, share with me how it turns out. ^_^

Too much of Beauty Make my eyes hurt.

>

If that women is natural beauty and just used make up to enhance her appearance, it’s fine but I just don’t get it the girl gone too far, does she really think she’s beautiful with those tons of eyeshadow glitter discotheque on her eyes? Confidence conquers it all, it seems.

For me everything is got to be balance in make up or even fashion. Too much of everything is making a beautiful girl naturally into some little monster of vanity in a bad way.

note: I am not referring to Lady Gaga “little monster”

Too much tan

photo: is this beautiful for you?

Having a color on the skin is nice but too change too much is just bad looking.

Too colorful/Much Eyeshadow

photo: Nice for editorial not in person. *sigh*

It’s fun and beautiful when it done nicely. I am pretty much guilty in this department as well sometimes. It is a mistake when I think I am painting rather than enhancing. BIG DIFFERENCE.
Live and learn.

Too long nail and too much stuff on it

photo: kawaii nails

It is beautiful and it looks like art on nails but seriously, how does that person eerr.. do her “thing”. Personally, I like my nail short and colored. If I get too far with it, slap me.

Colored eyebrow

A new fad I recently I found out. Colored your brow. Would you try it on daily basis? Not for me, thank you.

Over plucked eyebrow

photo: brow

Eyebrow are meant to frame your face. Over doing it, make you clown-ish. Unless you have fetish with clown looks.

That’s all my “I-Just-Don’t-Get-It” beauty rant. ^_^ Is there any beauty that you think gone too far and just plain ugly? ^_^

All and all, everyone has beauty disaster, I had my hair bleached, too much eye make up and mess up false lashes. Oh how I love being a girl!

Set your make up with mist of hair spray. Agree?

It is a beauty tip I got from some magazine and guess where the author found it, JERSEY SHORE reality show!

Personally, I do not want to put any hairspray on my face. Period. That’s what primer are for or loose transparent powder. Of course if you clubbing and dancing and sweating like pig, the make up will “melt” but in the club where usually it is pretty dark, everything look nice and usually no one cares. Doesn’t it harmful by the way and sticky? I can believe spraying your brow pencil with hairspray to keep brow in place but on entire face?
I rather mist a water on my face to feel fresh and get bootylicious on the dance floor. I don’t care my make up melt. I really don’t.- It’s a nightclub for crying out loud!

Review : Etude House BB Magic Cream

First time I heard BB cream when Malaysia pretty much flooded with Korean products and they promoted it very much. So I give it a try. I don’t remember how much was it, approximately RM60-ish? I was pretty much sucked into the alluring of sweet promises of this cream because one of the benefits wearing this cream is that it can help fading acne scars. oh what is BB cream?

BB cream stands for Blemish Balm and originated in Germany for dermatologist to help patients sooth and heal their skin after laser skin surgery. Korean celebrities views this BB cream as their secret weapon for flawless skin.

Personally, I think my BB cream is not suitable for me, it is cream-ish texture and when I put it on, it looks like I’m wearing a very white chalk all over my face. For some who have similar skin tone to this BB cream, it’s fine and lucky but having a darker skin, it is pretty much makes me want to throw this 25g of jar all the time. There is liquid type BB cream, maybe perhaps I will try that out. The only bad thing about BB cream is, it is only available in one color.

Be prepared to see how white it is on my face…

I need to cover it, I don’t want to give heart attack for those who view this image, but at least you know how white it is.

In make up purchase, you tend to make mistakes of buying stuff you “think” it is good and up until now, I feel adventurous to search affordable with quality. As the the says going, you get what you pay. As for me, I just view make up as fun to play around and make yourself extra pretty. ^_^

Because of that image above, BB cream claimed it will absorb to your skin and adjust the color with your skin tone, unfortunately, it doesn’t. It stays whitey.

So this is what I do to make it nicer to wear without feeling guilty to throw away full 25gram of jar.

1. I’ve mixed it with darker foundation.

2. I’ve put bronzer/darker shade of powder on top of it

3. I’ve mainly use it as concealer for under eye circle.

4. Used it as highlighter because of it’s whiteness, it can pass as highlight <–yes, that white.

Much better! It gives sun kissed glow like in summer.. ok ok, I know it is early. :P~~

I got this idea from this website. Neat!
